Natalie has spent most of her life learning how to survive. After growing up in the shadow of her father’s violence, she knows what it means to carry fear in her body long after the danger has passed: trust does not come easily, love feels risky, and peace, when it comes, feels too fragile to believe in for long.

Cameron knows what it means to be haunted, too. After a drunk driver took the life of the girl he loved, grief became the only language he trusted.
